I got up earlier than normal for a Sunday and started doing my school work. I worked on it for about an hour and a half this morning and after my girls left for the Remembrance day ceremonies, I decided that I would attend this year. Unlike the past few years I am not sick and I actually enjoy attending these ceremonies because I usually run into people I haven't seen in years.
I got a great shot of my youngest preparing to play her tuba today. She is all of 4' 10" tall and I am pretty sure the tuba is about 4' tall, when it is on its stand it is taller than her...LOL. I also got a great picture of my Dad in his full Knights of Columbus regalia which includes his hat with the big white ostrich feather on it. He normally isn't able to wear his hat and cape with his tuxedo due to the rain we usually have at this time of year. My oldest is also in the school band and played very well considering she is recovering from the final stage of gum grafting and still has stitches in her lower lip, she plays the flute.
We went to our local Legion after the ceremonies and had a great time with lunch provided and I ran into people I haven't seen in a very long time due to the fact that they moved from our tiny town and have not been back in recent years.
We went for a walk after I was done school work for the day and then grabbed dinner out tonight. Now I am going to kick back and relax for the night. As an added bonus I don't have to work tomorrow so I will hopefully get a lot of my note taking done and make a dent in the exercises for my next section of school. I am still slightly ahead of my schedule and I hope to remain ahead as long as possible. I don't think I will be finished more than a week or two ahead of schedule but even that will be fine. Although I would like to get about a month ahead again so that way I won't be stressing about my own finals at the same time that my oldest will be in need of a good deal of my time to help her prep for her high school graduation in June.
I am off to enjoy some coffee and watch the hubby beat up some Deceptacons.
