Well, they hurt again. DANG! I haven't run much in the past week, but it seems the little running with the orthotics, and the orthotics in general, seem to be antagonizing everything. So it's on to plan B for me:
1) back to no running for a week or two (I'll continue ST and cross training)
2) continue ankle strengthening exercises
3) anti-inflammatories for a week or so
4) THIS TIME - no orthotics
5) a few days after ending the anti-inflammatories, if pain is gone or very low like last time, I'll try slowly adding back running again without the orthotics. I did get a new pair of shoes last week, they are still Brooks Defyance, so no different, just not past their "mileage prime" like my older ones.
I've now found a HM I want to join in with friends in mid-January. If there is any hope in doing this, I have to start training soon.
