My dad is 90 years old and still an active member of the American Legion. He is the adjutant and places flags on the graves with the help of a man my age. My dad gets discouraged because like all organizations, many people can say they are a member but don't contribute. I know many of these wars did not get the props and support of U.S. citizens that WW II did so that may be part of it. I know my dad is proud to have served and so were my mom's 7 brothers. Can you imagine being a mom and having that many of your children in harm's way during the same time period? Wow! It boggles the mind. At any rate, I am proud of their service and for giving us the freedoms we have and YET take for granted. I fear we are losing more and more each day. Being a Christian is looked down upon by many voters and politicians today. We are being denigrated and subjected to different standards all the time. Time for our persecution is at hand. Pray hard fellow sisters and brothers in Christ. There will be trials.
