Feaster 5

Sunday, November 11, 2012

I am now signed up for the local turkey day race. My 6th year.

I opt for the 5 mile route and can't help but smile when the masses take the left about a mile into the course for the 5K route. The 5M is MY race. I chose the 5K in 2010 and posted my second to slowest pace. My slowest year was in my first year --- 2007.

I want to be better each year --- each year at least a little faster. I'm another year older. Can I beat my old time? Will I beat my old time? When will THAT age thing begin to make a difference?

My slowest race pace is faster than I can manage when training. Why is that?

Racing is often a good training tool because we do push ourselves harder than in training. You will do great!

It's all you. No one ever used my name and "runner" or "running" in the same sentence. To which, my Doc says "good!"
