Life Span Fitness Treadmill Desk

Saturday, November 10, 2012

Well i've decided to buy one of these even though the price just went up. Trouble is it is an on-line purchase and i don't know anyone who has purchased from or even heard of Life Span Fitness and so everyone I speak to is trying to talk me out of it.

Has anyone out there had any experience with this company? If you have a treadmill desk, where did you buy it? Anyone have any suggestions? emoticon

I'm reading this over a month after you posted this. But I just bought on Life Span treadmill desk from Amazon. Delivery was fine. It was very easy to set up and it works perfectly so far.

But I've only had it for a week...

I LOVE it. It was much easier to adjust to than I thought. And I really like walking while working. I work all day on the computer. I wanted to start slowly and ended up walking 3 and a half hours a day... and having to tell myself to take a break if I still wanted to start slowly :S

I started the first hour at only 1mph, but now work fine at about 2mph, sometimes a little slower and sometimes a little faster. And I can imagine that I'll easily log in 4 hours a day and sometimes 6.

I like the size of the desk too. Now I can understand a few industry friends who say this is the only desk they have.

Did you end up getting one? Are you happy with it?

I started walking at work in 2008 and it has changed my life. I lost 28 lbs in 6 months, lowered my cholesterol and improved my health dramatically all by simply walking in my office. I am also more productive, creative and alert all day since I am up and moving instead of sitting still. I have never heard about Lifespan and I'm sure they did not have a treadmill desk when I purchased mine. There were only 2 companies at that time, Treaddesk and Walkstation. I went with the Treaddesk since the Walkstation was over $5000 and I could not be happier. Since then 3 other colleagues have purchased one and have similar results. I usually walk between 4-6 miles each day in my office. I only walk at 1.5 mph and do not walk all day - I will sit sometimes, walk sometimes and just stand up sometimes. I can't recommend this enough to those of you that are stuck at a desk all day, it will change your life for the better.

I can't give you any advice but I will say that I love the concept behind these desks. Good for you for going for it.
