Yesterday was my birthday. It was actually a fairly ordinary day because my friends and I had dinner the night before and my family is getting together the day after. So on my actual birthday I had the excitement of work all day, then hit the gym and go to the grocery store (yes, on a Friday night) I know. That's my routine.
So I'm on the elliptical. I had already kicked it on the weights so I'm feeling pretty good. The thing is, I was starting to think about cutting my cardio short. That little tempting voice in my head was saying "but it's your birthday...take it a little easier...it's just one day." That little voice does NOT have my best interests in mind. So then a wonderful thing happened. The universe gave me lovely birthday present.
Just then, my favorite workout song came on my playlist and into the gym walked three gorgeous young men who got on the elliptical machines RIGHT IN FRONT of me. And there were three so it didn't matter where I stared. All three were wearing marthon or Tough Mudder shirts. Let's just say the view was worth it. So I stayed on that elliptical an extra 15 minutes listening to "Paradise by the Dashboard Light."
The only way it could have been better would be if they had been wearing cupcake hats.
Thank you, universe, from a pervy old lady :D
