I am so stupid! I have heard that funny titles get folks to read your blogs, so that one is for you all.

I was thinking of what the topic of conversation should be for today. I initially began thinking about fad diets and crazy little things that people try to lose weight or improve their looks. I began to think about supplements. WHAT SUPPLEMENTS DO YOU USE AND WHY? I take a daily multi-vitamin, a Magnesium supplement (helps turn stored fat into energy and aids bone recovery for things like shin-splints) and lately I have been taking cinnamon. A girlfriend of mine who is a diet guineau pig, told me to take it because it would help my digestive system. I didn't ask questions I just popped the pill.

This year a new food guide was introduced by the FDA called My Plate. I don't know if it is a replacement of the food pyramid or a supplemental resource to it. This is what it looks like:

in comparison to The Food Pyramid:

so my question is WHICH ONE DO YOU THINK IS BEST? I personally like MY Plate simply because it is simple and easy to follow.

So then THAT got me thinking about body shapes and sizes and how different companies/brands categorize the woman figure. Here are a couple of examples:

of course you have all probably heard of the apple, pear, and hourglass shapes. These were a little bit different. I have been trying to identify myself. I have always thought i was an apple but now I wonder if that is just because that is the best way to describe 272 pounds. When I look at the drawings of the ladies in the swimsuits, I think I am a triangle. Maybe an apple shaped triangle??? WHAT SHAPE ARE YOU????

Well talking about apples got me thinking about food which got me thinking about the holidays. My inner fat girl is so excited!!!!!! I know that I will be a very different eater this Thanksgiving than I have been in Thanksgiving pasts, with that being said, there are some things I am just not willing to give up on that special day. I NEEEEED my

Sweet Potato Pie. And no, I will not settle for pumpkin pie. There is a BIG difference. I must also have Magnolia Pie, or as most people know it, buttermilk pie:

OMG it is emoticon! As long as I can get a slice of these two things, I don't even care if I have anything else. THAT is what I will be saving my calories for. How about you? WHAT DISH CAN YOU NOT LIVE WITHOUT DURING THE HOLIDAYS????

THat was a lot of randomness for one day. You know I like to leave you with a feel good for the day. A lot of you have supported me from the start so you may have already seen before pics of me. Some of you are just getting to know me and have not. So here is a pic showcasing my progress over the last 24 weeks. I actually needed to do this because the other day I felt hopeless, tired and run down. I felt like I was doing a bunch and getting nowhere. The scale hasn't been as kind to me lately and for a perfectionist, that is hard. I needed motivation to keep going. So here it is. Have a blessed day!

Let's see I take a probiotic capsule because I have trouble eating yogurt - ack. I also take a multi-vitamin and some psyllium capsules. I prefer the pyramid because you can get an awfully big plate.....

I'm an apple - I have a buddha belly. I always have - even when I was younger and much much lighter.

Thanksgiving I am happy with turkey and only get to eat it straight off the bird a few times a year. Now Christmas it's my own sugar cookies. I'm not allowed to come home for Christmas unless I bring my cookies!

You look amazing! You are doing so fabulous!

You've done an amazing job so far!! You look great!! I think my plate is much better than the pyramid. I think it's an easier guide to follow and much more clear. As for my body type....I would have to guess hourglass. I've got the top to offset the bottom and that little curve in the middle (which I plan on making a MUCH bigger curve in the next few months). I know even at my lightest, I always had the TaTas and booty. My holiday must have is simple....stuffing. My plate is usually half stuffing (terrible, I know), a quarter mashed potatoes and then everything else. Mmmm.....stuffing...... emoticon

I take a multivitamin, fish oil for healthier heart, calcium with vitamin D for my "getting older bones," and a low dose aspirin again for heart. My daughter's dietitian just put her on a 1,000 vitamin D. That goes with her multivitamin and calcium.

I like the plate, but grew up with the pyramid. I think the plate can be manipulated a bit more. The pyramid gives the number of servings which is nice, but the plate gives amounts at a meal. I guess it's a toss up.

Body shape, I don't pay any attention to. Just as long as I have a good fitting pair of jeans and a woman's cut t-shirt and/or cami, I'm happy!

As for Thanksgiving, I like it ALL!

Last, but not least...you are always beautiful!!!

I use no supplements, it is a matter of money and that I don't want anything that is not natural except if I really HAVE to take it.

My plate looks more simple but I will never be able to follow it. I love diary products and I prefer to calculate my portions so I can eat a bit more of my favorite food while cutting in something less deary like freggies (I know it's bad, but I'm only human emoticon )

I was never able to understand this body shapes. I have the same problem with head shapes. Not a clue... (If I was forced to, O would say inverted triangle, but I'm really not sure).

    1. Fish oil pill, for hair, skin, and nails.
2. My plate, because of the visual.
3. Hour shape.
4. Pumpkin pie and my moms' tamales emoticon

No, no no darling....we can call you beautiful!! much more appropriate! gee I like those two photos!!

hum, right now I take a multi-vitamin (without titanium dioxide) and also one evening primerose oil (to regulate my crazy hormones) and one organic flaxseed oil (omega are good for many things). Your cinnamon had something to do with regulate the sugar, I did read an article about it a few months ago it's supposed to be really good. I even tried it, but my stomac said no more. I sometimes take some spirulina (iron) or B12 when I need it.

My plate is more visual and simple for sure, but where are the oils from the pyramid? gone?

I think I'm a triangle pear....since always...but at my highest weight I was more a barrel....my waist had disappeared...

I must say that we don't have Thanksgiving in France, and I do cook turkey or chicken for the kids (they actually prefer chicken) because they want to celebrate too, but when we lived in DC I ordered an opera (chocolate and coffee mousse on a light chocolate sponge cake) because it's my husband's favorite....not very traditional! I will have to try a magnolia pie...never heard of it! looks really good! but I do like pumpkin pie....a lot...I had one tiny slice two weeks ago....nice...may be we will buy one for Thanksgiving this year, since I don't have a good french bakery near by. I'm actually a good cook (people say it, one of my friend who's a food critic even told me many times to open, a restaurant) but I don't really like to bake cakes, cookies or pies, I find it boring...and seriously cooking for living would kill my back...I do admire good cooks, but there is no way I would have done that job. I like the creative side of it, but there is too many downsides...anyway I already have a job...

For Christmas, it is very different, we have many traditions, one I like a lot is from the south of France, it's the 13 desserts. My in laws always do it when we go there for that time of the year. I also like our usual "foie gras de canard" (duck fat liver pate) when served on warm brioche...since it is really expensive, it is mostly serve for Christmas/new's eve.....of for formal occasions.

I hope you will have a nice week end, and a lovely time at the hair dresser....be happy with all the good that those 24 weeks gave you. You will reach your goal for the wedding dress, do not worry about the scale right now, you are closer from your goal today that you were 24 weeks ago? right? that what matters...what is already done doesn't have to be done any more...

I cannot live without STUFFING! We've been eating stovetop in my family for years (read: since my step-mom came along) but this year I'm making it myself to cut back on the sodium. =)

And btw, you ARE fabulous!
