I feel like I am a crazy person. This is only because I never thought I would ever wake up one day and decide to do a mini triathlon. I did that today. I swam for 45 minutes and did 900 meters. Then I drove over to the gym and did a 20 minute run, 1.63 miles. Then, I decided to get on the stationary bike and rode 7 miles in 23 minutes.
I think I might make Friday Mini Tri Day. Why not?
Next week I have to work on some sprinting. The indoor Tri in February is 20 minutes in each sport to see how far you can get. I have decided to do a Sprint Tri in August. That is 1/2 mile swim, 12 mile bike ride and 5k run. So I want to work on endurance, but I also want to increase my speed. I know I can do this, I just want to be sure to slowly train so that I don't sustain any injuries along the way.
In addition, I would really like to start running 10k's next season. I'm trying to increase my distance with my running. Too many fitness goals.
The funny thing is, I love pushing my body to it's limits now. I'm just thankful that I am healthy enough to be able to do these things. If you would have told me last year that I would be participating in a Triathlon, I would have laughed in your face. Here I am, borderline obsessive about fitness. I can only laugh in my own face now, because I'm having such a good time!
