I might be a bit random today. Please forgive me.

I am home again today, although not because I am sick. I feel much better today, but the joys of being a substitute teacher and a mother is that sometimes I am unable to find work within the hours my children are at school. Today I am glued to the computer, constantly checking SubFinder for half day assignments, and browsing SparkPeople and Pinterest.

I am also watching Ricki Lake! Hard to believe she is still on TV, or rather on TV again. I discovered her this week. Today's topic is dating advice. The advice is great and would have been useful a year and a half ago. Now, I have my fiancÚ. He is, in my opinion, the greatest man on the face of the earth. I can't imagine not having him in my life now.

te-chip-brownies/) along with the pumpkin cream cheese swirl brownies I make every year. I am also making a chocolate pumpkin pie and a pumpkin spice cake. The pumpkin spice cake is very "diet friendly" but the rest I am afraid to run through the recipe builder. I plan on taking them to the future-in-laws on Thanksgiving, and don't have an issue with most calorie loaded foods, but these could be a challenge. Chocolate is my downfall- I can't wait!! The sweet smells of Thanksgiving await me.

I was going to skip weighing in this week. With the bloat that comes with my monthly visitor and being sick, I figured I could take a break from the scale this week. Unfortunately, my fiancÚ has decided to be the Scale Drill Sergeant and make me weigh in anyway (which will happen this Sunday). He told me it does not matter what it says either way, but since I have made him weigh in every week, I most certainly was not getting a break from the scale. I guess that is karma calling.

My goal last week was to not have soda. I failed and had it one day when I was sick (yah, I was sick last week too...wtf). This week that wasn't the goal and I realized I have had soda every day - 1/2 a can of coke zero in our nightly Dirty Shirley cocktail we have been enjoying with dinner (let me know if you want the recipe, its is amazing). I might need to revisit that goal and work on that more in the upcoming weeks. Its so hard with amazing products like coke zero!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful Friday. It was a beautiful rainy morning here in Modesto. The sun is peaking out now. The three day weekend is before us (although it wound up being a 5 day weekend for me). I hope everyone has a happy, safe and HEALTHY ONE.

    As far as the soda, cut yourself a break. Remember, baby steps. Even if you just cut out one soda a week to begin with it is progress. Give yourself credit for the good you do in your own life.

    I really only drink 1/2 a soda a day if that. I just know it isn't helping me drink more last week.

I was up 1 pounds last week, but didn't record that.

    I hate being bloated. But i do weigh in. But you don't have to count it. I have the same issues with soda diet of course no regular but i drink to much so i decided to that i would try to drink water at night instead of soda so will see how that goes. emoticon
