Thought and Prayer for Friday, November 9, 2012

Friday, November 09, 2012

When we boast about things we have done or what we have, we are really telling others we are grateful. However, we do have to be careful though how we come across telling others how grateful we are. We don’t want to appear proud for anything we did or anything we have. We want them to know all we have is from God and we are to give Him the glory. And we need to look for ways to use what He has given us to help others.

Jeremiah 9:23-24 “This is what the LORD says: “Don’t let the wise boast in their wisdom, or the powerful boast in their power, or the rich boast in their riches. But those who wish to boast should boast in this alone: that they truly know me and understand that I am the LORD who demonstrates unfailing love and who brings justice and righteousness to the earth, and that I delight in these things. I, the LORD, have spoken!” (NLT)

Dear Lord, we do thank You for the blessings You give us. We thank You for all we have. You give us so much and we deserve so little. Help us today to let others know of Your wonderful blessings You have for us and for them. Help us to strive to understand and know You and know that Your demonstrated unfailing love is why we have the blessings You give us. We know You love us and want what is best for us and we thank You. Help us today to share all You are with others and share what You give to us with others as well. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Thank you so much for your encouraging words. My day started out by stepping in dog poop and has gone downhill since then....but I took a few moments at lunch to go to SparkPeople and ran across your blog. I'm so glad I did. When I put my junk aside and realize how so very blessed I am it makes things better. Thanks again sister!
