Happy Friday, Everyone!
I've been so exhausted bc I haven't been able to sleep the past few days, so I'm definitely looking forward to sleeping in and getting in a few naps. I'm also going to treat myself to mani/pedi for all my hard work this week dealing with adjusting my eating to help lower my cholesterol.
I'm not gonna lie, I totally deserve my mani/pedi. I also deserve the facial and wax I set up for myself next week. Oh, and the reflective runner and dogs vest so we can ran and walk at night safely. I also deserve a relaxing weekend with my husband and my dogs. I also deserve a run this weekend in the nice weather ahead. I also deserve all the healthy food I'm going to buy for the week ahead. I also deserve the hot coca at night with a few marshmallows.
I deserve being taken care of.
I deserve a healthy life.
I deserve to feel great.
And so do you! Why don't you take care of yourself? I see that a lot on blogs that people don't feel like they should be a priority in their life. They make sure everyone ELSE is healthy and happy, but themselves? No so much. How is NOT taking care of yourself helping anyone? How is stuffing those feelings in or getting so stressed out that you cry helping your family? How is not watching what you eat NOT going to help you? How is letting your diabetes get out of control helping your life? How is not eating well and not exercising preventing you from that stroke or heart attack?
Don't you think YOUR family wants to happy and healthy? Don't you think your family wants you around for a long and healthy life?
Don't YOU want to be happy and healthy? Don't YOU want to be around for a long and healthy life?
I know I do and I've come to realize that more and more since I got out of the hospital when they thought I had a stroke. I don't want to be on meds. I don't want to be hooked up to so many machines that I can't even wipe myself. I don't want to see specialists or get an EOB daily in my mail. I want to be with my husband, dogs, friends and family enjoying life, traveling, running....just LIVING.
I'm not saying all disease is preventable with diet and exercise, even the healthiest people get heart attack or cancer. But taking care of your physical and mental health will not hurt you. Everyone knows fruits and veggies have so many benefits to a healthy life and deep fried sh!t doesn't. You can learn coping skills so you can help yourself when your feelings cause you to want to overeat, under eat...whatever. You have to be willing to ask for the help. You have to work at it. You have to make positive changes.
You, my friends, deserve it.
