July 4th was my last Blog entry?!

I had to laugh - at myself and with myself when I opened up my SP Page and read my last Blog entry - July 4th - my goodness - seems like a lifetime ago! And, who was I to think I could stay on track without at least weekly tracking or checking in on my exercise and eating habits....well we all know how that went. 4 pounds back on, exercise down and yet again putting ME on the back burner.
Life has been on fast forward - exciting, but all too easy to fall into bad habits of too much wine with dinner and putting off the running/lifting 'cause I just have to run out and do this and that for everyone else.
Since July 4th - Navy boy "sails" through his Plebe summer and is excelling at school and in his company - 3rd Company (for those in the know). We have been going to all the home Navy football games and enjoying meeting a lot of new people at a tailgate we have joined. - too much fun at times! (game starts 3:30 and tailgates start at 10:30am....)
Oldest back at college - sr. year in Ct - Fairfield University. Many seniors move off campus to beach front cottages - the beach is the Long Island Sound. She HAD a great location, back porch on the beach - beautiful - house itself eh? a college/summer rental - could use a lot of work. Well now it will get a LOT OF WORK - cause it is being torn down after SANDY - yep daughter is homeless so to speak. College put the beach kids up in temp spaces in the dorms' common areas...she is living with 5 girls; they have no closets and 3 dressers to share. But, they are warm and have electricity.
I am so proud of how well our daughter is handling this. Not one tear or plead for mommy/daddy to take care of this. She and her roommates are close to finding another house to rent and the displaced seniors are enjoying the on-campus programs that they never actually did when they did live on campus...!
Second Daughter - well a senior in HS - need I say - college essays and common app - Enough said there!
Last child - ah the 4th; well - as I said to him, now with all this other stuff settled down I can turn my attention to him - like white on rice - I shoot him a huge smile and he quickly realizes that he may enjoy flying under mom's radar!
Hmm what else? a funeral or 2 and refinancing of the house.
Me? Well - I am proud that I have not shot up in weight further - I have been steady at 2 to 4 pounds over my July weight. I feel good and am happy to be refocusing on me and my fitness/weight. I am back playing platform tennis and just love it!
Today I started running again - 1.5 miles followed by 1.5 walk/run. Feels so good to need a shower!
