Car Situation is Not Good, but the Lord Works all Things Together for the Good!

A few months ago the engine on our main car started making knocking noises which, without going into the details, means that we have to change the engine. Since it's a 2008 Hyundai Sonata and we still owe plenty of money for it, we really have no choice, but the change will cost around $4,000-5,000 which we don't have--not even close.
Our other car, a 1990 Honda Accord that has 250,000 miles on it, became our "good car." In fact, I joked that I was going to get a bumper sticker that says, "This IS our good car!" Well, now it's not. As I was just about to pull into our driveway last night, the right front axle broke and the car got stuck right in the middle of the road, across both lanes of traffic. Thanks be to God, I had just returned from a trip to the city on which I was doing between 60-70 mph the whole way, I am SO GRATEFUL that the axle didn't break at that time.
Indeed, the overwhelming feeling I have right now, the morning after, is thankfulness to God and a peace in the knowledge that he controls all things, that he was not surprised by any of this, that he has provision in store for our family, and that in a myriad of ways he will work this together for his glory and our good. I believe this because he promised as much in texts like Philippians 4:19, "And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." And Romans 8:28, "And we know that all things work together for the good for those who love God and are called according to his purposes."
Built upon these great and precious promises is a wealth of life experience in which I've seen the Lord honor his Word time and time again. This is without a close second the worst vehicle situation we have ever faced as a family, but it's not the worst the Lord has ever faced, and the difficulty is no match for his grace and ability and willingness to provide.
And praise be to his great name, a family in our church had already been letting us use one of their vehicles so we're not without transportation this morning. There's no need to fret about yesterday or worry about tomorrow, the Lord has provided today and that's good enough for me. I am eager to see how he will glorify his name all the more as we call upon him, lean upon his wisdom, and patiently wait upon his answer.
May we keep our eyes on the Source of grace today rather than the content of our problems! Hope you have a great day, my SP friends!
