Things I do not recommend:
Trying a new ST group class (Cardio, core & sculpt) AND
Running a 5k on the treadmill in 28min which is fast for me AND
Sitting in a coolish room watching the snowfall.

The muscles in my legs have set up like giant blocks of cement. Sleeping is actually painful.

Its really all NancyAnne55's fault. Indirectly of course. She's had 4 kids and looks like...THAT. Be fair, she earned it. If she can, why cant I? So I've been better about doing my ST at home and at the gym. Vanity goals aside, I also still have this 5k speed goal on my mind and Nov 22 is coming up pretty fast. I also keep eatting candy (damn you halloween!) And so being mindful of calories in, calories out, I am trying to step up the activity.

So, yeah. That's why I am awake at 5am saying "Ow, ow, owwwww!"

Next gym visit: more of the same although perhaps stepped down a bit and with more post workout stretching.

Sorry about the pain!! Perhaps a little less is better? :-) And don't sit in too cold an area afterwards!

Glad I could help torture! LOL! Actually, I am very glad you are picking up your game. Big changes equals big changes. (Did a blog by that title a while back.)

Yes, stretching, but some soreness is to be expected. You won't be as sore next time you do it- muscles adapt very quickly! The most soreness will be experienced when y0ou introduce change.

Hahaha, I feel ya! Sometimes I get out of my chair and the 96 year old I live with goes "um, should I get that for you, I think I'm moving quicker!!"

Just keep stretching, maybe a nice hot bath/sauna/hot tub session is in order?

Ok, I can't help but giggle because I did a similar thing very recently. Only it was my glutes that cramped up!

You need to stretch! I really hope you loosen up soon! Good luck.
