Day of the Dead photos

Thursday, November 08, 2012

Here are pics from the Día de los Muertos celebration I attended Sunday. It's a way to remember those who have died and to pay respect to the cycle of life. It's a light-hearted way to deal with death, which can be painful for those left behind. The tradition is a big celebration in Mexico. People visit cemeteries November 1 and 2 and leave food, flowers and flowers to entice the dead back to earth for a day.

A very interesting tradition. The photos are awesome. Some of the masks would scare me to death emoticon It's always wonderful to celebrate those we have lost - gone, but not forgotten.

Cool pictures. I have heard of that festival, there was a movie out about it not long ago, and before that movie I never knew of the Day of the Dead. Thanks for sharing.
