Naturopath Visit November 6

Wednesday, November 07, 2012

So I saw my naturopath again last night. He wanted a urine sample again but, again, I wasn't able to provide one lol. He gave me one of the containers so next time I can do it anytime that day and bring it with me.

This time he gave me a couple more things to take. So I already had these pills to support my liver function from before, called Livton Complex, that I take 4 times a day. I also have Meriva-SR I take 2 times per day as an anti-inflammatory, also for my liver. He now wants me to take Vitamin D every day 2000iu, being in Canada and me not spending much time outdoors anyway I agree with this lol. He also gave me a homeopathic medicine that was apparently chosen specifically for me and to treat everything lol.

I did some reading on homeopathic medicine and its quite interesting. I'm not sure if I believe it'll be effective given what I learned but I'm going to try it anyway ^_^ Sometimes things work and we just don't understand why lol. Anyway he gave me Calcium Carbonicum and I looked it up and it listed a number of things that its used for and certain physical/personality traits. I find it kind of weird but very interesting lol. Anyway, almost all of the things it listed actually did match me ^_^ and it comes in these little granules, looks like little white balls, and I'm supposed to take 3 of them twice a day. I'm also not supposed to touch them with my hands so they dispense into the lid by twisting it and then I just drop them in my mouth and let them dissolve.

Now this particular remedy was chosen given all my specific symptoms. One of the things he used to choose it is my anxiety. I am a very shy and self conscious person and I get anxious in a lot of social situations. One of the things I mentioned to him once is that, even though his office is like a block away, I will probably never walk there. When asked why I told him because when walking down a busy street I always feel like people are watching me, from their cars and such. One thing mentioned for this remedy was a tendency to avoid drawing others attention. the naturopath said this particular anxiety of mine was a bit unusual, but when I talked to my mom last night she said she feels the same way.

He also asked me a lot about my fears and anxieties during the visit. It was surprisingly easy to talk to him lol. Easy for me lol, though still very difficult given the subject. I'm not good at sharing emotional stuff lol. Though it was difficult for me, I still told him probably more about it than I have anyone else, ever. He said the homeopathic remedy should help with the anxiety too, though if its not the right remedy for me it could exacerbate the problem lol. I should know within a week he said.

So, all in all I think the naturopath visits are going well. I really think he's going to be able to help me get feeling better and get healthier. Way more help so far than my GP provided. All my GP did was say lose weight and offer me powerful antacids lol. I'm really moving away from any kind of prescription or OTC drugs. I'm gonna have to ask him about alternative allergy therapies come spring time.

Oh I almost forgot, he also gave me a sample of this magnesium supplement. He said magnesium could help me sleep better. It's a blueberry flavored liquid. It's a bit thick, almost like drinkable yogurt, and it feels a bit chalky but it's not too horrible and the taste is not bad at all, and as I only have to drink 1 tbsp of it a day I would be cool with taking it if it works. So I guess if it works he'll want me to take that as well lol.

It sounds as though your naturopath is very thorough. From what I've read while researching homeopathic treatments for myself and family they are specific for each patient. I hope your naturopath is able to get some of your issues under control. Please keep us posted on your success.

It's great you are exploring different avenues to improve your health.
One thing though....never ever, ever let what people might be thinking about you detour you from doing what you want and what you need to do. My friend told me once, it's none of my business what other people might think of me....it totally freed me mentally which allowed me to be free physically!

Wishing much success!

Jeannie
