Changes so small I didn't even notice

I hit 2 milestones today and I AM SO PROUD OF MYSELF. I hit 30lbs lost and I hit the lowest weight I have ever been in my adult life. As went about making my breakfast (oatmeal, egg whites w/turkey sausage n spinach) I was thinking about what my usual breakfast used to be: scrambled eggs, with eckrich sausage, ketchup, cheese (LOTS OF IT) and some kind of juice. Not only that what my usual lunches were (pizza buffets or any kind for that matter), fast food, sodium laden hot dogs with chili and cheese. I don't even think about the "mandatory" nachos I would get on every trip to Target. The excuses for not working out, for not choosing healthier options because I "deserved" it for having a rough day, working out, celebrating something etc.

Now I can see how completely different my eating habits are. I remember thinking when I switched from 2% to 1% milk "that's not a lot of calories I'm saving" but I did it anyway. The same could be said for when I switched from white to brown rice or when I added quinoa to my brown rice and bought bok choy for the first time. Little by little I was becoming this new person and the cravings that were so hard to ignore at first are much quieter now. I see now that all those small changes helped me loose these 30lbs. I am not done yet but I no longer question if I'll ever gain the weight back.

    It's inspiring to see how you've gotten to the point where it really is a lifestyle and reflecting on my own journey. I can say the same thing. Although I've yet to make the sort of progress you have made, I can see that I will easily incorporate exercise into my life forever now because it's become a habit. The eating habits are harder to change, but I'm doing it.

  Great job! You are doing awesome! It is really amazing when you make such a significant change to your life, your diet, your future.
My husband has been working on his diet longer than me and I see so many positive changes in his life since starting. I want to be a part of it and I want to feel as good about myself as I see him feel about himself. I'm very proud of him. He's lost almost 50lbs in a yr, but has really only been doing it hardcore for about 6mos.
