I have a strange observation about something that’s probably not so strange in and of itself.
I noticed that it’s so much easier and quicker to drink my eight glasses of water each day if I drink out of a cup or glass rather than a water bottle. Also, it gets even easier and quicker yet if I add a straw.
So why the consumption amount would go up so drastically, I’m not sure. It has to be all in the mind because I am less likely to pick up a water bottle as often as I am a cup. I’m not sure why that is, but it happens.
From here on out, I’m not going to rely entirely on drinking my water from a bottle. First I will pour it in my cold cup, with it’s handy-dandy red and white striped straw, before I drink it.
I won the hot/cold cup set in a TOPS (Taking Off Pounds Sensibly) meeting and I’ve put it to use.
For the first time ever I’m getting my 8 cups of water without a problem. However, it also has me running for the bathroom so frequently, I’m starting to wonder if I shouldn’t just set up camp in there and make that my main base of operation.
So I don’t know what it is about this straw phenomenon that makes it work, but if you have trouble getting your 8 glasses of water in each day, then you might want to try it. Just stay near a potty if you can help it!
