We're Going To Be Okay, Really We Are

Tuesday, November 06, 2012

It doesn’t matter who wins the elections in the USA. America’s future is safe and sound. As long as we have bright, young, forward thinkers like Rachel “Fitz” Fitzpatrick we are going to be okay. I take the liberty of calling Rachel a good friend and I know for sure she is an inspiration. We only met once, at a birthday party a while back, and since then have been Facebook buddies. Rachel’s is in her twenties and full of optimism and enthusiasm for life and everything that’s in it.

I wanted to blog about our nation and our freedoms and how important and sacred they are. I read Rachel’s posting on Facebook this morning and I was so moved. It was short and simple yet so powerfully eloquent that my words would be insignificant.

“I'm voting because my type fought harder than any other type in America. We should exercise that right. Don't vote against yourself and inhibit your rights as a human being today. Today is not about 4 years, it's about a lifetime. Vote for you, your safety, your children's safety, and your parents safety. We vote for our future based on experience alone. We aren't voting for magic, for kings, for money, for vanity. Only you can change yourself with the tools being supplied. So hope for change in policy that helps the greater good as an American and let the individual go. God bless this country.”

Thank you Rachel for letting me know that when my head hits the pillow tonight our future isn’t something I need to worry about as long as there are people like you willing to see a positive vision.

Rachel is so right! I thank G-d that I was born here, as well. And I pray for the guidance of our leaders.

Voting is compulsory here in Australia. I think we should consider
it a privilege to vote and have a say in how the country is run.
Good luck America. I am just watching our new(3.51pm) and it has
been determined that Obama has been re-elected. May God guide
him to lead America. emoticon emoticon

Rachel is my kind of girl. I tire of hearing people who vote only thinking of them selves instead of what is in the best interest of the majority of people. Too many people vote on a single push button issue and end up with exactly what they don't want because of it. Political parties should be required to have written platforms and those who vote should be required to read them and sign off on them before they can vote. I don't know how many times some idiot I know who doesn't read or watch the news has been fried when I told them what their party stands for. In makes it easier to be objective when you know where all sides stand.
