New Spark Streak

Tuesday, November 06, 2012

I've decided to start a new Spark Streak! I will be tracking it in my weekly goal tracking blogs.

I've noticed that my sleep and stress really controls my weight gain or loss more than any other factor... when I am well-rested and wake early, I have much more stamina, willpower, motivation, and energy to be active. So, I've decided to focus on a nightly bedtime routine to make sure I sleep well each and every single night!

Bedtime Rules:
-No vigorous exercise after 7 pm (it tends to keep me awake).
-No TV after 8 pm.
-Begin Bedtime Routine by 8 pm.

Bedtime Routine:
-Stretch (or yoga). Any duration, just do some stretches.
-Bath. Every Night. Even if I already showered that day: a nighttime bath does WONDERS for my relaxation and sleep quality.
-Deep breathing and/or meditation just before bed.

I love myself. I love my body. I am strong. I will do this.

bath cant be done here, but I used to put a strict *no schoolwork within hour of bedtime* rule in effect. Forced me to relax a bit.

I love taking hot baths every night, it really does help me sleep better. I also like to take a powdered magnesium supplement in warm water.

I firmly believe that you will. I have the opposite problem. If I am up late I want to snack. I decided to wear myself down by doing a little workout to tire myself out so I can sleep. Weird.
Stress causes many problems that we sometimes overlook. It can prevent weight loss, which tells you the mind is a complicated thing.
Good luck to you.You can do this.

Many ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ's are coming your way. Less cortisol stress hormone may result in more belly fat being released. Yeah for you!
