Getting on the Right Path

Tuesday, November 06, 2012

I have truly been in a slump. I was swimming this summer and lost 8 pounds, but have not been exercising the past couple months and the weight is back on. I really need to get back on track but I am not feeling the Motivation so I am gonna give the SparkCoach a try. I think it might help to have to be accountable to someone or something.
As a Christian, I am accountable to God. I read a devotional the other day that likened the Christian walk to a narrow path going along the mountaintop. If you go overboard, you are going to fall and end up in a gully and if you don't do enough to stay on track, you are going to fall.
It is similar in the health journey. If you go overboard, you are never going to stay on the path every day and if you are too lax, you are not going to make it either. You have to find that balance that keeps you on the path and making headway.
I am pulling myself up and getting back on the right track. I have already restarted my daily Bible time and I am going to restart with my small goals for Sparkpeople, eating right and exercising at least 10 min a day. I am not a child. I am in the medical field and a seasoned Christian, so I need to walk upright and be a good example to others.

Lovin' reading your blog. I have been sick with a cold, and have not been exercising as well. So, I wondered what to do. Where I live (NYS) the winters get wintry and I shudder when I think about going out to walk. Finally I reminded myself that our church has a gym. So I am going to go up a couple days a week and walk up there! Hope to hear how you make out. - Diane - emoticon

I love to's great exercise! But swimming or any exercise alone is not enough. We must eat right and make lifestyle changes along with exercise if we seek a healthy life. You can do it! God Bless YOU! Vic.
