I go to my alma maters and experience healing via loved ones and healing songs and prayers from the pow wow.

I've seen a couple of your other vlogs and then went back and saw this one, which caught my attention because of the mention of Alverno College, which is also my alma mater. I graduated many years before you (1968), but this is the first time I've encountered another Alverno grad here on SparkPeople.

The idea of a Native American Dance Spark Team was also very interesting to me. I love seeing how people incorporate their own personalities, interests and identities into their Spark experience. My own heritage is not Native American, but I have always been interested in and appreciative of the culture that Native American people have maintained and brought forward despite massive obstacles and repression.

Much happiness as you continue your journey! emoticon

You have once again taken me back to my youth and I love it. I remember watching in awe all the beautiful colors, the dances and the breathtaking music. Thank you for sharing part of you history with us. Thinking of you and wishing you good health. emoticon

Great vlog Buffy - thanks for sharing your heritage. I have been to one Pow Wow before near where I live and found it to be very interesting. My great grandmother was first nations but no one in my family has stayed connected with our heritage. I am so please for you that you had such a wonderful time and got to dance with your true love.
