Still pushing on

So about 2 weeks ago I competed in the Little Rock Mud Run. It was fun, but holy crap was the mud sticky. I just couldn't get it off my hands after getting out of the pit. It was a lot of fun though. I still don't really know how I feel about non-timed races. It's not like I run fast enough to win anything, but I am a bit of a stats junky and I like to know my official time.

After running in this race I think I have decided to run a half marathon. I took a look at the training program for the Little Rock Half Marathon and was like, "I could do this." All the running is very similar to what I have been doing with Couch to 5k and I was already to the point to where I was continuously running for 20 minutes, so increasing to 3-4 miles a run wasn't too much of a step up.

So far the training is going pretty well and I feel good about it. I figure this could be a good way for me to stay motivated once my Back to the Basics challenge is over. Right now I have made great progress with 17 lbs lost in 6 weeks and I don't want to lose the momentum I have built up. Just glad it is still going well as I keep pushing on.
