Time for me!

Monday, November 05, 2012

I have been so busy helping family and friends with their challenges that I have neglected myself and have become disconnected from my needs. To relax, I watch way too much TV. I have maintained my weight, being sugar free, exercising daily but I have not grown in other areas of my personal life. I will continue to help where needed but not as much. I relish the idea to lose myself in a book, painting, creating, and possibly writing my personal history.

To this end, I will spend my evenings reading
I will walk/run twice a day
I will take time to create, write and learn
I will consider carefully requests for my help! emoticon

You are the most important person in your life. I too am not moving as much as I should. I still work fulltime, and I notice, my energy gone at night. I have gotten lazy. I am hoping by losing some pounds, I will have start exercising again which gives me energy.

Take care of yourself, only you can.

Oh so important! Caring better for ourselves so we can be here to care for others when the needs arise....and as we know they always do!

It is a difficult thing to balance helping others and loving others and taking care of ourselves. I agree that we can sometimes become unbalanced.

When I started this journey I took time for me every day to exercise and do other things. No one complained. No one thought I was selfish. Part of the reason no one fussed was that when I was there, I was more present and better able to meet their needs.

It is so easy to get caught up in others' needs and forget our own. It takes a mindful person to recognize that. You are living proof that the mindset can be changed, that it does change, and it doesn't mean we have to return to our old ways.

Take good care of you, too. :-D
