November REBOOT! With a Halloween sidenote!
Sunday, November 04, 2012
Last Thursday was the start of a new month, but I'm going to start my new Month officially tomorrow! I did manage to log in and get my 50+ Spark points every day of November so far, and I've been getting most of my water in BUT I need a REBOOT!
My mother-in-law, who is very dear to me and to all the family, had a mild stroke late Friday night. She was taken to the emergency room of the nearest hospital, which is a good hospital, but after they admitted her, they had to send her to another hospital at 4 AM because of insurance glitches. I won't go into hairy details, but it was a harrowing experience to say the least. She is doing well now, it was a very mild stroke but very scary for all of us.
So, the weekend was a series of extra prayers, phone calls, text messages, hospital visits, waiting on doctors and test results, worrying and wondering, and eating on the run. Exercise got totally bypassed on Saturday and I did not want to start my new month like that! I didn't even notice the extra hour we got today. I'VE BEEN ROBBED! I always look forward to that extra hour we get with the fall time change...and it sneaked right past me!
OK, I am done whining. I will clean up the mess in my kitchen which appeared while we were sleeping, (I had just cleaned all the surfaces, fridge, stove, counters, sinks, before I went to bed Friday night, and now ...wait, I said I was done whining didn't I? ) (SMACKS her forehead) OK Really done this time. I'm starting fresh. When I get up tomorrow, I will be on track with my goals for myself and for my home.
On a totally different note, I was invited to go along with my grandson, his parents and his other grandma for trick or treating Wednesday night. WOW! I had such a fantastic time watching my little grandson, all dressed up like a pirate, going house to house with his bag held open in two hands, and trick or treating. I swear I giggled every time I heard him say "Trick or treat!" One time he said "Can I want some trick or treat please?" And after saying "Thank you" he would come back to us and say "Next house". You may think I'm biased, but this little two and a half year old is absolutely adorable! He just cracks me up! We did a lot of walking that night and a lot of laughing too.
