I was hit by a car and had extensive damage to my knees and hips. I have used a cane for years. The cold weather usually leads to increased pain and stiffness.
This year is different and I know why. I have been walk and involved in regular exercise as part of my Spark People plan.
I am careful to do exercises that do not cause more problems for my knees, feet and hips. I make sure I adapt all videos to my special health issues.
I have been walking and strength training. We have had cold and damp day. I am not using my cane at this time. I know that as the weather gets colder and the snow falls, I my need it. In the past, this cold , damp weather would have my knees in distress by now. I would need my cane.
Exercise is working for me! I am very happy. I take one day at a time and keep pushing forward. I know that exercise works; just find things that you can do. Just get started and keep pushing forward.
I am focused on improving my health. I am focused on being stronger and able to walk without my cane as much as possible.
Walking is working for me. Make your exercise plan and just do it!
