Today's menu is a clear liquid diet, prior to a medical procedure tomorrow. I am surprised to see pop listed on the Clear Liquid Diet. "Most pop is considered clear, even Coke and Pepsi, root beer, Dr Pepper and Sprite, 7-Up, Ginger Ale, Vernors, iced tea, apple juice, Kool-Aid, Crystal Light, popsicles, flavored ice, etc."
I've had jello, bouillion, coffee, Crystal Light, and water. I feel like I've been eating and drinking non-stop all day. The instructions are to choose something from the list every hour. My stomach is growling. I haven't died from hunger yet. Even the dog's food is starting to look good!
Starting at 4PM, I drink four cups of prep solution over the next hour. Repeat that process again at 12:30 tonight for another hour. It doesn't look like I can expect a lot of sleep.
I slept later this morning so the awake-part of the day would pass more quickly. After I take the dog for a walk, he and I may snuggle in front of the telly...and doze off.
I will survive...and hopefully lose a few pounds in the process. I do not recommend this diet as a weight loss tool.
P.S. The worst part was the prep and spending hours in the bathroom. The procedure was easy. I slept through it. No after effects. Good report, no problems noted.
Remembering the tiny hospital gowns I usually get, I asked for a large. Boy, did I ever get it! It wrapped around me more than once and kept falling off my shoulders! This is me, waking up in Recovery, feeling no pain.
