Nov. 3, 2012 Day 3 (gross stuff inside)

Saturday, November 03, 2012

Had a good weigh in today, the scale is still moving in the right direction and I made my quota for food today, yay! but did not get much exercise in today because I can't breathe and I have green snot coming out. I had sinus surgery back in 2008 and ever since then I have trouble breathing out of my nose and I get sinus infections at least 2 to 3 times a year and it's about time for the fall one to show up. I will figure it out on the exercising and breathing, but if I stay at my goal on calories and just move some I'm hoping the weight will still come off.
Have a good night and remember to set you're clocks back.

I have a hideous cold right now and wondered if my exercising would suffer. I talked to the trainers at my gym and they suggested slowing down a bit and listening to my body. (And also keeping kleenex in the cup holder on the treadmill lol). So far, so good!

I struggle with something similar in that my asthma and allergies often keep me from being able to exercise outside unless it's the dead of winter. I like using the gym but with a big family and 3 little ones to take care of that only happens once or twice a week. I make use of my yoga collection here at home as often as possible but even then it doesn't happen everyday. Like you, I am having to keep a close eye on my calories. It seems like if I even "see" a cookie I gain weight. I've been actively changing my lifestyle of couchpotatoness to a more health conscience and active one. It hasn't been easy. I have lost 20 lbs over the last 6 weeks but I still get discouraged when the scale won't budge or I feel like I can't breathe. Hope you are feeling better soon. You are definately not alone in your fitness challenges. emoticon

Yay you!!! Take care of yourself. You might just go for a short walk tomorrow...just to get some fresh air. Great job on the scales!

sounds like you have a sinus back-up. . .deviated septum, swollen passages, collapsed sinus passage, something. . .you should have it looked into.

I have a partially collapsed right sinus - ususally it's no problem but when the seasons change I use a neti pot, steam the sinuses, take an allergy pill daily and, when an infection seems imminent, Mucinex D - keeps it under control.

    Good luck!

Have you ever tried using a netti pot? I love mine!! I get at least 2 sinus infections a year. I use the nettie pot and flonase to save myself. They are miserable!! emoticon
