My new New Balance walking shoes came today! They're really nice and look like they're going to be sooo comfy. Really am looking forward to giving them a good workout. SP has given me a whole new appreciation for the value of GOOD walking shoes and how vital they are to having the best workout possible. Foot injuries can totally shut down the workouts and that's NOT a good thing.
And....I've talked about being so cold now that all of the 'insulation' is gone. I found a merino wool long sleeved kind of top that you wear next to your skin, under everything else that should be really warm. LL Bean had them on sale so I decided to give it a try. I saw Cuddle Duds at Sam's and they just didn't look warm enough to do the trick. Can't tell you how cold that bus is in the dark mornings when I first go out to get it started. I'm fine by the afternoon when it's in the 40's but when it's in the low 30's or 20's I just can't seem to get warm. Hope this will work!
Did the big hill this morning, then more cardio hiking in the woods. Total on the day was 8.95 miles. Raked a lot of leaves for quite a while too. Did a strength training session tonight - core; lower body.
Made a giant crock pot full of chili for dinner ~ it really hit the spot this evening. Tastes so good when the weather gets cooler.
