It's my turn...PERIOD!

I committed to this journey earlier this year. Though the scale hadn't changed significantly, I was making progress. Then I decided to take it up a bit and commit to going to the gym 6 days a week after work. Finally, results.

This meant cooking the week's meals on the weekend for my family, checking homework a little later, getting everyone to bed, taking care of the house and geting ready for the next day.

Rather than support -- I got complaints about not being home. So I cutback on my gym visits and focused more on my responsibilities.

Guess what-- No progress!!

This week I haven't worked out at all. I feel terrible and I'm starting to regress on the litte progress I've made.

Not any more... I'm investing in me. If I have to buy equipment for home, I'm doing it. If someone has to learn to warm dinner on their own, they are doing it. If mom/wife is missing for an hour each evening, too bad.

It's my time. I'm getting rid of this weight for me.... Committed!

    Taking care of yourself isn't just good for YOU - it's also good for your FAMILY. It sets a good example to them about taking care of their health, and enables you to be around longer for them to enjoy!

    Yes, it is your time. Congrats on finding what will help you get to your goal. Your schedule sounds like mine and when mom, me, is not tending to their every whim then they start complaining.

    Plan ahead and set aside your "me" time for yourself.

    I get up early and work out in the morning at home, before anyone else is awake. That way they can't miss me doing things for them. In this one area of my life, I come first, and the rest of the family has come to accept it. Yours will as well!

    I have an elliptical I use at home, weights and theraband. My family comes first but what ever time is left I work out like cry.
