My Daddy

Friday, November 02, 2012

Im asking my SP friends to please be in prayer for my Daddy. He had a heart attack last night, thankfully we were in er when his heart went into arythmia(?) and they did compressions as well as used the paddles on him to bring him back to us! He will be having open heart surgery Monday, they found 5 blockages today during heart cath. One was 100%, one 99% and the others were 80 to 90%! We are so blessed to still have him with us!

My daddy is a quiet somewhat shy man with a great sense of humor! He was a little outnumbered in our home because there was my Mama and 4 daughters to contend with everyday! We have all given him 8 grandchildren (6 boys and 2 girls) and he enjoys every one of them! He has been more concerned with his pets back at the house than he has been for himself! (i made sure they were fed!) My daddy is only 72 years young but looks 10 years younger to me! He has always enjoyed good health, except for the occasional gout! This has really thrown him for a loop because he didn't realize his heart was in such bad condition! He was in the hospital back in August for chest pains and he passed stress test with no problems, echocardiogram didn't show anything, so they didn't do cath. Hindsight is 20/20! If only they could have taken care of this then,me, one of my sisters and my mother wouldn't have had to witness that awful scene in the er and daddy would be healed by now! But God was watching out for him and gave him an awesome er staff to work on him! I was so I impressed with the way they handled him!

Thank you for your prayer! emoticon emoticon

Thanks again for your prayers and kind words! Daddy is home as of today and glad to be there but unhappy with the fact that they diagnosed him with type 2 diabetes while in the hospital. Will have to ave 4 insulin injections a day! He thinks the doctors are wrong! Please keep him in your prayers and my mama also because she will be his primary caretaker while he recuperates!

i am so sorry you and your family are going through this. However, I am equally glad you now know the reason for this event and pray for all of you as you face this surgery on Monday. May GOD be with your daddy as he undergoes surgery and may he experience complete healing. Keep the faith. GOD ALMIGHTY is on the throne!

Thank you Spark friends for the prayers! My daddy is doing great this morning! He came off ventilator last night at about 9 and is sitting up this morning and in good spirits! Praise God for watching over him! We went through this with my Mama 17 years ago when she was just 52 (the age I am now)! Again thank you for the prayers!

Praying for your dad & family. If it's any consolation...both of my parents have had open-heart surgery. My mom had a 5-way bypass & my dad had a quadruple & later a stent put in. Almost 15 yrs. later they are both doing just fine. They are now ages 81 (dad) & 76 (mom).

It's an honor and privilege to pray for someone's father's recovery. I'm glad you had a good ER staff to keep him with you. God is good. I will pray for your family that God will give you strength and grant you peace, whatever His will. emoticon
