Want to run back in time? Anything is possible!

Friday, November 02, 2012

This Sunday morning is the Anything Is Possible 5K; starts at 1:50am (not a typo) and you're guaranteed to get a PR (unless of course you ran this race last year) because, ten minutes after the start, the clocks go back an hour courtesy of Daylight Saving Time.

If you run under an hour, you get a negative time! Start at 1:50am, run for 30 minutes, finish before you started at 1:20am!

The goodies are pretty good too: free pizza and PJ pants to all runners. (Last year, some guy ran in pajamas and with a pillow.) I'm not actually promoting this run, I just think it's amusing enough to share.

The race is held in 6 locations across the US simultaneously. They got over 400 people last year at my location (Bethesda MD).

Hope you had fun! I can't imagine running at that hour, but then, I'm not a night owl.

What a clever idea! (Though I will admit even being a night-owl, the idea of being out at nearly 2 am to do a race is more than I think I'd want. I like my extra hour of sleep.)

Good luck! It sounds like a fitting tribute to the travails of daylight savings time.
