First half of our vacation summary

We made it back to Miami unscathed. We got some of the big waves behind Hurricane Sandy on the last night, so I have some problems sleeping due to things sliding around and drawers opening. The only thing that I saw broken on the ship were two glass panes on the deck above the pool, and that looked like a deck chair when sliding into them.
Back to the start of vacation time. We arrived in Miami Saturday night and were staying at a hotel with airport shuttle service. The next morning we were able to have a nice leisurely breakfast since we did not have to be back to the airport until noon for the cruise shuttle. We got our cruise cards and boarded the bus when it came around. They gave us a card that said "airport express" for once we got to the terminal... that got us through security a little faster, but also we did not have to stand in line to check in since we had already done so.
Our first day and stop was at Key West. We decided to do the bicycle tour, which was about 2 hours. A gorgeous day for sure! There is usually a breeze of some kind there, so we will remember that when we go again. We went back to the ship for lunch, and then got off again to go walking. I am not a shopper, but do enjoy seeing sights. We saw the "Little White House" and "The Wreckers" statue. There is some very interesting history there for sure. We had a good guide who made the ride interesting and gave us a reason to get off the ship and explore on our own.
The next day we were at sea, heading to Grand Cayman, our diving excursion stop. Late morning we went to the shore excursions talk. The cruise director said to be patient because he was waiting to hear from the captain about the weather. About 10 minutes later, the captain came on the overhead and said that since 'tropical storm Sandy' was picking up winds and would be close to Jamaica and the Cayman Islands, he felt it was unsafe to go there and so we were being rerouted to Costa Maya and Cozumel. My first thought was that at least Cozumel is supposed to have great diving.
I have to head off to work, so I will continue this later.
