I was amazed when one of my teams sent me a prize at the end of October for drinking the most water. Who knew you could get a prize for that? But I've been pretty good at drinking water ever since joining SP last June.
I'm basically lazy, so I turned this to my advantage. When I was at my local dollar store I found a plastic pitcher that holds 8 cups. I measured it when I got home to be sure. It's about the size restaurants serve beer in. It cost me 99 cents.
While I was at the store I also bought a package of 100 drinking straws: 99 cents more. Restaurants know that the bigger the straw, the more beverage you suck down, so I got the thickest straws they had. Total cost for pitcher and straws: $1.98 plus tax [$2.15 here in CA].
I keep the pitcher at my desk and fill it with water whenever it is empty. I have to go to the bathroom frequently, so I just fill it when I go. I keep a large plastic glass next to my work station with a straw in it. It has become a habit. I don't even have to think about getting in my water for the day. Each pitcher holds 8 cups, so I just add 8 cups to SP whenever I finish the pitcher. The straw makes it easy [and fast].
The other thing I do is to drink one pitcher of water [8 cups] before I eat breakfast. Since I'm retired I can indulge in this luxury and eat breakfast an hour after I get up. I haven't had anything to drink in about 8 hours [I was asleep], and it is easy to drink that much before I eat anything.
So now you know my water secrets. Here's lookin' at you!
