This week was a good week. I traveled this week so I varied from the goals. Luckily the hotel had a fitness center. I wished the remnants from Hurricane Sandy wasn't in Chicago because I would have loved to run the streets of Chicago for a workout. Is there something wrong with me when I would rather run the streets of Miracle mile rather than shop in the stores? The weird thing is the first thing I packed was my running clothes, then I packed my clothes for the conference. I walked all day at the conference (2 days) and then ran 5k on the treadmills at night. After dinner one night, I looked at my phone and seen the hotel was less than a mile from where we were at so I convinced my coworkers to walk back. What a bunch of whiners! I did get my YMCA membership. So much to offer, I might even take a martial arts class sense it is included in the membership. The kids are excited about the membership. They are talking about swimming , martial arts, adult sports, yoga and the teen room where they can hang out and play pool. Luckily they have some friends that also have memberships.
This week's review: Sunday I was busy cleaning house and packing so I didn't do any workouts. I ran 5k Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and will Saturday. I followed my nutrition plan on the days I tracked and tried to Monday through Wednesday when I wasn't able to track. I did keep fighting the voice in my head that kept saying "go ahead and eat it...you don't travel all the time" and "Eat up...You are not paying for it". You know the excuses that pop up to give you a reason to eat like a hog. I didn't gain any weight, but I didn't lose any either.
Next weeks goals: run 5k Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Zumba on Monday and Wednesday. Weights for core on run days and weights for arms and legs on crosstrain days. Rest on Friday. I plan to run outside on Saturday and Sunday if the weather permits it. I think that is important for 5k training.
I did run my first 5k Saturday, that will be another blog with a pic later.
