Funky Halloween

Thursday, November 01, 2012

So I did my Halloween 5k...sort of. I went with my friend Celeste and her rather plump corgi and Princess corgi got a little tired. Since the race literally went right past her house they decided to call it good there. Plus we took a little shortcut. We ended up walking about 2 miles. It was a fun race and I also got to visit with an aunt, an uncle and my mom. Here is a pic of me (feeling a little devilish!) with Eliot in his fancy jester collar, and Celeste with Princess poopybottom.

As you can tell by Eliot's fur, it was a wet day but the temp was perfect for a stroll around the neighborhood.

As for the funk....I've been in a funk pretty much for the last year. After a work week all I want to do is go home and not be around people for as long as possible. I'm not depressed, but I do feel like I'm a bit stressed. Probably because I work for the government and we can't go through a day here without wondering if we're going to be laid off next. I'm doing what we all do - putting one foot in front of the other - in the hopes that I can walk right out of this funk and back into losing some more weight.

For all my spark buddies - I hope you all know how much I appreciate you. You keep me coming back and hopeful. I can't ask for better!

Awww. What a cool walk (even if it was a little shorter than planned). Wishing you less stress and all the serenity (and quiet) that you desire. I get it...after all day around people, I like some alone time at home, too.

What a fun day. Elliot looks dashing, and I love his smile. Looks like the Corgi had fun as well. The funk mood is going around. I hear you about the job situation. Hang in there!

emoticon That Corgi cracks me up! Elliot was probably thinking "Diva!" and rolling his eyes. So funny.
My 5k is tomorrow. Eeek! I've been sick for a couple of weeks so I haven't run much. I don't think I'll hit the goal I had made for myself, but it will still be a good time. I'm putting a turkey in the oven before the race. I have an annual pre-Thanksgiving meal on this race day. It will just be the 4 of us plus my mom. She's either brining an apple or a chocolate pie for me. emoticon

Marshawn has done great! I even picked up their defense which I'm also glad about. emoticon

Yeah, the economy is enough to stress anyone out. But worrying doesn't do any good, so let's keep our chins up. emoticon

PS: I love how green the grass is. I guess that is one benefit from all the wet weather you have. emoticon

    You guys look fantastic!

I've been in that kind of funk . . . just keep doing that putting a foot in front of the other thing, and you'll walk out of it eventually.

I know the feeling of wondering when you are going to be laid off. It finally happened in March after a couple of years of wondering. I am still looking for a job and hope to here from one soon. I can only hope it is good news. If it isn't, I will be very disappointed because I want this job!!
