CONFESSION: My SPARK got put on the back burner

October is always a busy month...but this one was a KILLER!!

With Dad's health problems....three costumes to sew....elections coming up (I work for a policy organization, LOTS to do before elections!)....and the crazy weather, which first gave me a sinus infection, then made my knee ache as the pressure fronts moved through, then the cold and wind....

I've been a BAD SPARKER this month!

The good news is, me being bad now is very different than me being bad even a year ago! I never got back up over 160, I still went to Zumba classes even when my knee was aching.

But I've barely run. I would shorten routes, walk more, find an excuse to skip or change my workout plans...all of which means that I am NOT PREPARED for the 10K I'm supposed to run this weekend!

I'll be running it anyway. I doubt my time will be great, but I WILL run this 10K!

And the weather has finally turned! It's sunny, and should reach 50 this afternoon. So I'm pulling on my running clothes and RUNNING this afternoon after work. NO EXCUSES!!

I've also been slacking on strength training, yoga, and stretching. I do some of it with Zumba, so hopefully I haven't lost too much strength or flexibility. But I know I need to do better. So when I get home from my run, I'm hitting all three this evening.

I promised myself that I was not going to backslide ever again...and I haven't, but I also haven't improved. For the last couple of weeks, I've been maintaining the status quo, but I'm ready to start moving forward again!!
