Adding Something New (Spoilers: It's CrossFit)

Whoa. It's been a while since I posted anything. I don't really have anything insightful to say. Just some updates on what I've been up to.

Awesome Husband hasn't been up to the gym this week. He's fighting something. He feels okay but he's feverish and wakes up in the middle of the night pouring sweat. Not to mention that Monday was the storm.

So I've decided to try some new things. The key here is: METABOLIC WORKOUTS!!!

Monday and Tuesday evening I did circuit workouts by Fit Villains. Check her out on Facebook and Tumblr. She's adorable and strong and smart and writes great workouts. I took yesterday off. And then today I hit the gym and did about half an hour, seven miles, on the recumbent bike. Then it was WOD time.

I did one last week as well. 3 rounds of 8 dumbbell snatches (each arm) and 500m row. Exhausting! I loved it. Today was an ascending ladder for twelve minutes of hang cleans and burpees. I got up to twelve by the timer and I was pooped.

Thing is, I don't think I'll ever join a CrossFit box. There's a lot I don't love about CrossFit. But I like the workouts and I'm confident in my lifting form and ability. So I'm going to add in CrossFit WODs a few times a week. Gotta keep it interesting!
