Overslept today!

Wednesday, October 31, 2012

I managed to set my alarm for 8pm instead of 8 am and overslept until 930. My mom finally called me at 930 to see if I was okay or if something had come up. I was supposed to pick her up at 9am. I hustled into the shower and we grabbed a quick breakfast at McDonald's instead of our usual Perkins breakfast. We had an 11 am chiro appt, which we did make okay.

After that we went to a couple of corn fields and I got a bag pretty full of left over corn for the squirrels this winter. Spent about 45 minutes doing that and got pretty warm out there. the sun was up and it was probably in the 50s. Just a nice fall day. Figured that was some good exercise walking the plowed field searching for corn cob pieces missed when it was harvested. Got some gas in my car, and stopped at work to get some sushi. Will have that for lunch on Thursday. Wednesday is the big sushi sale day at work. Most of the trays go for $4.99 instead of regular price. Quite a deal and worth the stop.

Headed to my moms for a little bit and then home. Whipped through the renewals that came in the mail and even got them to the PO today. Jim felt like doing Hardee's for dinner, so away we went. Them home for the trick or treaters. Watched the movie "Sleepy Hollow" which just ended now. So far it's 745pm and we have had only 2 trick or treaters.
Looks like we will be having some left over candy for lunches and treats the next few days. Good thing we didn't buy much. Will be putting the glass insert in the screen door tonight. Already have the screen insert tucked away in the front closet until next spring. I guess the seasons have officially changed now that that is done.

We live outside of town and never have any trick or treaters. Our nearest town has a party for the kids and we always donate the money we would spend on candy to that. We miss seeing the kids as they grow up.

That extra sleep was probably needed.

It was a miserable night for trick or treating here. I still took my niece, but we didn't stay out very long.
