Cat Litter

I hate lugging those bags of cat litter home. They are so flipping heavy.

I carried two up the stairs, one in each hand the other day.

Curious as I dragged them finally to the top... what do they weigh?

13.5lbs each apparently.

Thats nearly a stone, and ouch I need to re-lose couple of these bags?

Horribly sobering. emoticon

    emoticon When I first started walking for Exercise I walked at Wal-Mart using an empty Grocery Cart like a Walker. When that got too easy, I started adding bags of Kitty Litter -- 1 or 2 at a time -- to the Cart. I increased the number of bags every week or so until I was Walking around Wal-Mart pushing 100 pounds of Kitty Litter in a Basket. I never actually BOUGHT any until I lost 100 pounds, then I donated 100 pounds of Kitty Litter to a Local Shelter.

    How many have you loss and kept off though?

I need to lose 10 pounds and trying to focus on small things I can do to get there. Like getting 10 minutes of daily exercise. Like having one less Halloween miniature candy. Like drinking more water!

    YOU CAN DO IT!!! WE can do it. We are awesome. We are strong. We have the tools. We have the knowledge. I have often wondered what it would be like to just remove 50 lbs for a day, just to see what it would feel like. Oh well I know what I must do it is a matter of doing it. Let's do this...

    Worst time of the year to lose 30 lbs, but you lost 180 before, and you can lose this too. A lb a week, and you will get there by spring. Holiday meals, and treats are going to have to be enjoyed as sparingly as possible.

I don't think 30 gained is the problem. It is the steady increase, with the holiday food looming. You need to cut into this before it is 50 or 60 to lose. Friends and family want you to enjoy meals, and treats with them . It is a part of the holidays. I can't imagine staying on plan, if I had family to spend it with. My mom made lots of cookies, and huge meals.

At least Thanksgiving has mostly food on plan. Christmas has all those cookies, and brownies. I plan on dropping another 10-15, then indulging a little around Christmas.

Just do the best you can every day. Minimize what you need to fix with a New Year's resolution.

    I compare everyb10 lb wt loss to the bags of cat litter...that is what mine weigh. I've lost 4 of them and would like to lose 2 more. People laugh at me for the comparison, but it works better when we put it in real perspective! emoticon

    It is amazing to think about how much strain we put on our bodies.
Just imagine if you had to carry all the pounds you'd lost up the stairs!
You're doing great! Keep it up and you will get there!

    I agree with Lexie63, you did a great workout carrying those 27 lbs home and up the stairs. As sobering as you think it is that you have to re-lose the weight, you are doing well improving your fitness to that level. That is wonderful stamina, I think. Keep up the dancing like no one is watching and the carrying the groceries and kitty litter home. You will get there.

    My boys go in the garden so I don't need litter but Sainsbury's deliver my cat food, why not get them to deliver your litter for you?

    I did that potatoes last week, I had to carry them to the car, which I park as far away as possilbe
that 10 pounds sure got heavy......

    It is amazing what that amount feels like when we carry it for such a short time. To think that we often carry that extra amount on your bodies all of the time. emoticon

    I've lifted our dog's food bag, 55lbs... I could barley life it, yet I had more than 3 or those in excess weight strapped to me for 34 years... WTH?!? VERY sobering. It's wake up call isn't it?!?
