another chilly rainy morning. ended up staying here and doing 5 miles of leslie yesterday. no halloween candy in the house--i made brownies for shirley's halloween party (last saturday) but all the candy corn that wasn't used up went in the trash. it was a kind of weird brownie recipe--you made a box mix of brownies and then when they were nearly done baking you sprinkled choc. chips, marshmallows and candy corn on it and put it back in the oven for 5 min. looked very festive--i can't imagine how sweet it must have been. made them in an aluminum foil baking pan so i could just leave the whole thing there. hopefully someone ate them or they got taken to work and fed to co-workers. there were so many cookies and treats there i could have not done anything and no one would have noticed. i am going to try to remember next year and take a fruit tray instead.
got my first Christmas card pretty much done--waiting to hear back from Sharon if its okay, then i will begin printing them and get ready to paint kellie's card.
don't know what kind of exercise i will do today--i have two options--leslie on the treadmill or a video upstairs. first thing is my bootcamp workout on here with nicole, then on to the other. will decide on that a little later.
since i am kind of 'in between' tasks today i may have my artist date today. i am working through a book by julia cameron called "finding water" it is a sequel to a book called "the artist's way" that i read years ago. sort of a self improvement series of exercises. one of the exercises is a weekly artist date. you are supposed to just go and do something that speaks to your creativity--and you are supposed to go alone. i wanted to go up to lake michigan yesterday and see the big waves, but i never made it up there. so maybe today i will come up with something and go. the trouble is i am not really near a lot of "cultural" stuff, so for me to go to a museum or something like that is a bit of a hike. i'll figure something out. and tomorrow night we are taking dewayne and cindy out to dinner to thank them for siding our house. we are going to go to a place up in michigan called the wheatberry tavern--its all handmade food--focusing on fresh, locally produced ingredients. they have a menu item called "three sisters" that is a sort of bean stew--i am thinking i would like to try that. last time i got some kind of shrimp and it was yummy. its a neat place, fun casual atmosphere and dewayne and cindy have never been there. and they have walleye which is one of dewaynes faves.
guess that's all for now--have a happy and healthy halloween everyone!
and if you do have some candy--enjoy it fully and then get rid of the excess
