Surviving Super Storm Sandy's Sweep thru PA

Tuesday, October 30, 2012

Well, We have survived the worst of Sandy! Rain yesterday was relentless! Raining still today, but not pounding, sky is brighter. Winds still gusting, but it is amazing how today's 30 mph gust feel like just a breeze...compared to last nights recorded 60 to 80mph GUSTS!
But the creek in front of our house stayed in it's banks. The old Oak tree, 15 ft. in back of our house, is still standing. Although almost all of the leaves are off it, and just a few small branches emoticon came down!
And while the power flickered, it never went completely.

So we are feeling a lot less stressed about the tail end of this storm. Much more confident that all will be well!

Hope Everyone in Sandy's path fares as well!

Theresa, I am so glad you and Pyne are okay and survived one of the worse storms ever. It sounds like NY and NJ got the worst or it. I know you're counting your Blessings right now. Last November we had a Hurricane here with winds up to 100 miles per hour I honestly thought my roof would collapse but it did do over $10,000 worth of damage to the inside and outside of my house. I still haven't repaired all the damage as when it comes to Homeowner's insurance my Co. didn't cover everything. I never want to go through that again. Be Safe and Sound and be careful if you have to go outside.

Hugs & Love,

I'm very happy for you. It must be a very great relief after all the threats, that it is over. You have been blessed.

Glad that you and Pyne survived the storm with no damage. We had no damage, but high winds, flooding and our power was out for over for 14 hours. It was like 58 in here and believe it or not, I was cold--I'm normally the hot one. It's not over yet, but the winds and rain aren't as bad as last night. My heart goes out and my prayers go up to the people who have died in NY and NJ. We were very lucky Theresa. (hugs) Noel

That's good news. You were some of the lucky ones. Pa. was more inland and didn't get the storm serge like much of te east coast got.
Take care.

Good to hear that you are safe and have no flooding. We didn't have any flooding either and had only a flicker or two of the lights. A lot of people in our area (WV), however, did lose power. I hope they get it back quickly. Looking out the windows I don't see too many branches down although we are surrounded by woods. It is still raining so I think I will wait until tomorrow before venturing out!

Surprisingly we only lost our power momentarily but did lose several tree branches to our fence and our dishwasher to a power surge. Other than that the family is safe and that's what counts!! Glad to hear you and your family is safe as well and that you didn't have any flooding with the creek.
