don't know why but i am craving sugar today big time. the weekend was okay--i actually made most of what we ate sat. and sun. instead of going out. maybe its because my morning routine was all broken up. i have a dentist who does 7 am appointments. i love these because i can get there and back (its about an hour from my house) and be done by 9 am. didn't sleep well--i kept waking and checking the clock . scarfed a bowl of cereal in a hurry before i left. when i got home a couple technicians came to replace a new window pane that had cracked, rob was still here, so my day didn't even really begin until about 10:30. fortunately i had leslie and monday is my 5 mile day, so i managed to get that done. by the time that was finished i was starving, so i fixed myself some lunch (a nice healthy lunch as a matter of fact) and then i was exhausted so i laid down and conked out for an hour. made a raspberry cake for our breakfast tomorrow (new recipe from a reduced calorie book) checked on the chickens, ran to the dollar store. when i am this fragmented there is no point in trying to paint, i can't concentrate, so i decided to just do odds and ends that needed doing so tomorrow i can have an uninterrupted day. but ALL DAY i have been mad for something sweet. finally broke down and got a diet soda at the dollar store, just so i would have something to "consume" and keep my food mind busy.
i did actually weigh myself this week--on friday it was up a bit, but on sunday it was down a little below the previous week, so i am thinking my cupcake night blip is over with now.
we went to a halloween party on saturday--fortunately we ate a sandwich before we left, and almost everything there was sweet--so i didn't really eat at all at the party. usually at carry ins i don't eat the sweets, but if there are some savory salads or cheeses, thats where i do damage. it was a fun party--and the best part is rob WON the most creative costume with his "man behind the curtain" outfit. it was so fun to see him go up and claim what has to be the ugliest trophy on earth. he is so shy and retiring, he doesn't get noticed very often. spending an entire party concealed behind a drape actually fits his personality pretty well. he sat on a sofa and watched football on TV and i passed him food and drink through the curtain. i sat beside him and carried on a conversation with a drapery, and every once in awhile a little belch would emanate from the curtain. it was so funny, i laughed until i cried, and so did a lot of other people.
he took the trophy to work to put it in their common room. i think he really got a kick out of winning it.
now we are watching the approach of the big storm and hoping for the safety of all our eastern friends. lake michigan is going to be a monster tomorrow as well.
