Sunday Update!

I have done a lot of thinking and soul searching and I think I am back on track, more focused and with more tools in my arsenal for fighting the eventual urge to overeat. I'll let you know how it goes, of course! Today is 4 full days of eating on track, but that's not unusual for me. Let's see if I can get past 7 or 8 days.

On a more positive note, TC and I did 12 miles this morning. Last Wednesday we were supposed to do 11, but I had overeaten a bunch of junk on Tuesday night and felt sluggish and heavy and lousy on Wednesday morning. So instead of 11 miles we did 6, which made me feel like a failure in addition to feeling sluggish and heavy and lousy!

But today, with my new attitude firmly in place and 4 days of eating on track under my belt, and just feeling strong and in control, we did 12 miles. We speed-walked five, did walk/jog intervals for five, and did regular walking for two. VERY successful I would say!

So I am happy, happy, and wonder why I would EVER trade this feeling for potato chips or ice cream or whatever. It's crazy nuts.

The other thing on my Sunday agenda is about half a bushel of pears from a neighbor's tree that I have to get peeled and sliced for the freezer. It looks like the rest of the day will be pretty sedentary for ol' Travelgrrl. Happy Sunday to all!

    Yeesh, I agree with Elizabeth, 6 miles is extraordinary. You are waaayyyyy to hard on yourself. You are a winner in anybody's book.

    I'm having a pretty relaxed day too! Tomorrow we leave for Alabama's Cheaha State Park. We'll spend two nights there and 2-1/2 days hiking. I hope we enjoy it half as much as we did Cloudland!!
