I have lost enough weight for other people to really notice (22 pounds), some even say I look thin...what a woo hoo moment.
But it's what happens next that makes me tee hee, giggle, laugh and snort out loud, how did you do it? Did you low/no carb, pill, powder, cleanse etc, whatever they secretly want to try to lose the weight themselves. They're looking intently, waiting for my answer.
When I reply, eating nutritionally to best fuel my body, which includes fruits, vegetables, healthy fats, dairy and lean meats and exercise.....wait....there it is, the eyes glaze over and the noticeable disappointment in their eyes can't help but shine through.
Well folks, there is no easy route to a healthy weight or healthy lifestyle. I personally find it funny that people think so much less about what they put in their bodies than the doctor they choose, or whether or not to have a surgery or who will perform it. It all comes down to your health, you get out of it what you put into it. Imagine you need a surgery and you open up the phone book and close your eyes and pick a surgeon, crazy as that sounds, it's no different that grabbing something off the shelf and eating it without doing your nutritional homework.
Take the time to read labels, pick foods to satisfy your personal tastes and to support your good health. Trust me it's time well spent and never do to lose weight what you wouldn't do to maintain it.
You don't need pills, powders, fasts, detoxes you just need time, effort and commitment to your cause, good health!
