Finally- the scale moved!

Sunday, October 28, 2012

emoticon I was stuck at the same weight for about 2 to 3 weeks and I was exercising daily for at least 30 to 60 minutes and following my calories guidelines, staying on the low side pretty much every day and that darn scale didn't move! I didn't mind so much since looking at myself in the mirror I can see the changes and I am certainly happy about that but it is so frustrating when you eat right and exercise and try so hard to eat right and nothing happens. My pants are fitting better so I know the toning is working and I wish I didn't mind what the scale says and even tell myself it doesn't matter, and sometimes I listen to myself and sometimes I just get annoyed. I know that at a certain point in our life, our metabolism just doesn't work quite as well or as fast as it did when we were younger so I will keep on pushing and hope to get to the goal weight eventually but I don't think it will be within the time period that was given to me when I signed up. That is ok though since I know that each day I am getting stronger and more fit and as I tell myself, that scale is just a number, how do I feel?, how do I look? Those are the real questions!!!!!!!!! So for all those our there that your scale number isn't moving, THAT IS OK, just keep on eating right and exercising and getting more fit and eventually it will! I wish everyone a great Sunday and a wonderful week! emoticon emoticon emoticon

I have had 3 plateaus since starting SP and the last one lasted 6 months!! So if you had a 3 week one, you are doing great! The body just needs to adjust and we hit those set points and it is just not wanting to budge!! So, I know the feeling!! I also want the scale to move badly-even though inches have come off and feeling so much better, etc. It is just that I need the weight off my bad knees ASAP or I will have to have knee replacement sooner than later. And if they do have the surgery done, I need to be at a lower weight since the recovery and therapy will be easier on me. It is frustrating when you do work hard at it. But, we will not quit-right?! emoticon emoticon

I just passed my second plateau. I like to tell myself, "It's ok, just be more stubborn than the scale, and you'll eventually win this staring contest." Way to persevere! Excellent work and good luck on the road ahead!

Yep! I agree 100%! I've gone though this several times, the scale doesn't budge, or it inches down fractions of a pound for several weeks. This can be so frustrating and it's when many people throw in the towel! BUT DON'T DO IT! We have to know that if we continue doing everything right, EVENTUALLY that dastardly scale WILL budge. It's a test of perseverance!

Good for you for sticking with it!
