Preparing for Sandy!

Sunday, October 28, 2012

Apparently our area is dead center of the projected path of Sandy. We have been preparing for 2 days now. Not only must we prepare for ourselves, but also for the safety and care of the cats of the Shawnee Om Shanti Cat Sanctuary. We have weathered floods but never before have we gone through hurricane force storms. But we have prepared the best we could and now all that is left is to pray. Prayers for all humans and animals alike to stay safe!

Thanks everyone. For all of us in Sandy's path - here's hoping we can all ride the storm out!

Prayers going up for all those in Sandy's path. Living in NC I do understand the devastation these storms can cause.

ALSO in PENNA. all flash lights within reach on each floor.. filled up the gas cans for the generator and have enough food stuffs for days.. doing husband's daily dialysis NOW instead of tonight in case we loose power and after last storm and NO electric for 6 days I now have a MARINE battery for my nightly CPAP... and of course PRAYING PRAYING PRAYING... that this blows out to sea as one "model" shows is a possibility... ALL three of my cats are IN THE HOUSE... they don't want to go out... SO THEY KNOW!

ALSO have 20 gallons on drinking water AND I've saved the BIG kitty litter jugs to use for toilet flushing... the Tidy cat buckets... I planted tomatoes in .. outside my kitchen door:) emoticon
