Free lifetime at Weight watchers again, this time I keep it

Sunday, October 28, 2012

So my loss last week held up for my meeting on Saturday morning. This morning is day 188 of keeping my food journal and if you are keeping track my commitment is to keep it every day for a full year. Nothing changes today. I plan to keep on going down into the weight watchers healthy weight range for a person my height and age. The people at my meeting gave me two 100 pound loss little round things yesterday, and another charm for reaching goal. And a lot of positive reinforcement. There were two new people there, who had not seen all my old photos, but the leader knows me and is recruiting me to come and work for them. I will probably do it after May when my other job ends. I need some part time work, and that job is likely to help me keep focused after retirement from the teaching job.
Funny thing, I decided to celebrate with a cupcake from the RGV cupcake factory (winner of food network cupcake wars). I put the thing in my tracker and off we went after a couple of meetings yesterday. We had a birthday celebration for another person at meeting number two and took her to lunch so I had a veggie omelet there. Life is very different today. I was not hungry yet when we got to the cupcake factory. I left my cupcake in the box. This is maybe not so big a deal to most "normal" people, but what a life change for me. When I eventually ate it, it was disappointing kind of (probably a poor choice of flavor) and I didn't finish the entire cupcake. THE thing that was NOT disappointing was getting myself some new scrubs for the lab. Oh My, I can really see these last ten pounds that came off. The food yesterday was the smallest pleasure. The look on the face of the new guy who has about a hundred pounds to lose? For him to see a real person, who has real people right in his home town who can verify that this really happened to her? Priceless.

In addition to your personal success, you can now be an inspiration to others you meet in real time not just online. How wonderful!

Love this blog. Great stories about the thrill of in-person support and seeing the hope born in someone's eyes, the new scrubs, the cupcake in a box.

I used to look at all the things about WW that bothered me, and I decided finally to put all that aside.

I miss that about WW. I haven't been in a few years since finding sparkpeople. That, and the horrible way weigh ins would make me feel, but all-in-all WW is how I lost all of my weight. It really is a great support system and when you are a regular you feel like you have a team to support you. Not only the leaders but the members as well. When I reached goal, I received cards and congrats from other members I never realized I had motivated! I say becoming a leader is a really great thing and I have always wanted to do that. I think it is a great way to stay motivated and on target.
Good for you! Hope you have had a good weekend!
