Overdoing it?

Saturday, October 27, 2012

This week was kind of busy. On Monday I did No More Trouble Zones in the morning then took advantage of the nice weather and ran/jogged/walked 5+ miles. Burned a little over 750 calories, more than half of my weekly goal. Tuesday and Wednesday I was in Rochester visiting my sister and didn't get home until dinnertime. Thursday and yesterday I worked all day and didn't get home until late. I didn't really want to exercise, so I didn't. Now today, it's nice out. Just finished a 6.2 mile run/jog/walk and burned 624 calories. I have around 120 calories left to burn to reach my weekly goal of burning 1500 calories. I can run for another mile and a half to burn that easily. But would I be overdoing it? What would you do? Would you say "I already burned over 600 today; that's enough for me" or would you say "120 calories is easy to burn!" Ugh. I wish I wasn't so obsessed with meeting my goals for the week.

If you want to meet it I say go for it! Nothing wrong with wanting to go that extra mile ( see what I did there lol). And if it just doesn't happen no shame in that either.

I don't think it is over doing it :-)! Go for your goal. Just keep in mind what you want to accomplish with the workouts you do so that you get exactly what you want out of your workouts other than the satisfaction of seeing numbers ;-)

That's how I think, too. I did some circuit training and burned 120 more calories. Goal = met! Thank you!

Push yourself just a little further. Think of it this way. Will you regret running a little further, or doing a little more? In my experience - never. You will be amazed at how far you can go and also your improvement. Keep it up! congrats on reaching your goals.
