Drama at Seven Weeks

Saturday, October 27, 2012

Yesterday afternoon I had spotting and it was too late to go to my obgyn's office, so the nurse advised me to go to the ER. After hours and hours of waiting around at the ER and a few tests, I found out that I have a gestational sac but they couldn't see a fetal pole. They tested my hcg and told me to call my doctor's office today. I did call today, and was told to go in on Monday to see if my hcg levels have doubled, and I'll need another ultrasound in a few weeks. I had more spotting this morning. I'm kind of nervous, but I know spotting is common, and I know there's nothing I can do about it. My husband is telling me to keep my mind off of things, so we went for a walk and did some yardwork, and we'll go to the gym in a bit.

HUGS, HUGS and more HUGS! I am sure you just can't get your mind of off it and it must be extremely agonizing to have to wait---- I guess, trying to stay calm and relaxed is all you can do. More HUGS!

Thinking of you love!!! I know its so hard not to worry, but it is very early so it would be easy to miss a fetal pole, especially in the ER. Let us know how things go on Monday!

Oh, Susan, this must be so stressful to have this happen over a weekend. You can't do anything about it, so worrying isn't going to change things. Don't forget to breathe and relax.

It's so early that it would be easy for someone to miss the fetal pole on an ultrasound... Particularly if it's not the tech's specialty. I had spotting with both of my kids - cramping too. Sending positive vibes and prayers your way!

Oh hi sweetie, I am so sorry, that is so scary and not what you want to happen. I had a similar thing with Corban (always happens on a Friday night right?) and was told to sit tight and not worry (like you can stop yourself!) only they tested my HCG levels and they weren't multiplying the way they should. Then Monday they pulled me in for an early ultrasound and I saw the heartbeat for the first time. What a little miracle! I'm surprised they didn't have you go in tomorrow to take more blood. My thoughts and TONS and TONS of prayers are with you. xoxoxxo
